As we begin to confirm numbers of tour members, we will be able to finalise the package rates, which are now preliminary, subject to confirmation once we reach the cut-off date for bookings, which will be early in the second half of 2024.
We actually considered taking vehicles and motorcycles with us for our inaugural Hop tour, but after extensive research and speaking with experts re Customs and shipping availability etc, we have decided that from a cost point of view, plus logistics, campervans make far too much sense. For a start, they are already there, ready to go and just need to be provisioned for the fun ahead.
They also offer the convenience of not having to pack up your gear every few days when you’re on the move, plus NZ is the poster child for campervan touring, with the whole country set-up for tourists who want to explore it in comfort and at their own pace.
We have always seen the Beach Hop tour concept as a long-term proposition and will be hopefully offering, sometime in the not-too-distant future, the option to take cars and bikes over there, although having campervans as part of the equation would still make sense purely from a convenience point of view.
